Climaxing 30 years of world
leadership in R&D and applications of industrial radio remote controls, the
Telemotive/Berlet combination offers a family of rail yard and track systems based upon
the proven Series 8-K/10-K/12-K radio control technology.
Rail Yard Locomotive Systems

Master Compact Locomotive & Railcar Spotter Transmitter
Radio Controls For Ballast Cars
Locomotive Universal Radio & Remote Control System
Berlets radio remote control
system will cut costs and save you money, improve safety, dramatically increase the
accuracy of materials movement in your yard, and speed up your overall operations. We do
this by providing the optimum in reliability and performance for your equipment with our
microprocessor-controlled systems and our exclusive integrated mini-pneumatics.
One operator working from a safe distance of up to 2,500 feet can control the
direction, speed, braking, lights, sanding of track, and warning bells and horn. The
operator has a view of all the cars to be moved or coupled, so is able to work faster and
more efficiently.
The lightweight, powerful cordless transmitter is worn around the operators
waist. Its features include a unique clamshell design for easy access to the internals,
battery life indicator, and easy-to-read controller labels. The receiving and interface
unit is mounted in the equipments cab or on the frame.
The microprocessor does not accept incorrect instructions. Safety interlocks
ensure no plugging of the locomotive, no ruining of traction equipment, and no grinding
down of wheels or brakes. Full radio control is accomplished by using 3 or 4 pneumatically
piloted control valves (actuators). These valves are mounted outside the receiver cabinet.
Control-related hardware is located inside the cabinet so troubleshooting can take place
in minutes, eliminating lengthy downtimes.
The weatherproof and aircraft-type shock-mounted system is easily maintained by
your own people. Full modular design incorporates diagnostic circuitry that allows rapid
correction of any problems. Installation is performed in a few days at your site and
includes free operational and maintenance instruction.
RAIL MASTER COMPACT
LOCOMOTIVE &
RAILCAR SPOTTER TRANSMITTER
The Rail Master transmitter offers an easy-to-handle
radio remote control transmitter based on Series 8-K technology for directing locomotives,
rail car spotters or shuttle wagons. The lightweight aluminum housing is designed for
easy, one-handed access to the function controls and the engraved graphics wont wear
off. The transmitter may be worn by the operator via a belt clip or by using the supplied
shoulder strap. Control functions may be customized.
For easier ballasting control try a simple GateMate
and experience an increased level of safety and productivity. Based upon our proven 10-K
series of radio remote control, GateMate eliminates the need to expose your
maintenance-of-way personnel to the hazardous job of ballasting track with resultant dust
clouds and potential for injury.
 Operators are able to
stand or walk up to 200 feet from the moving ballast train while enjoying a level of
safety and control unavailable from conventional, manually operated dumping systems.
GateMate Radio Control System allows operators on each side of a car to
dump simultaneously using dialup transmitters. The same car can be accessed by both
operators and depending on the ballast gate employed, will permit inside, outside or
center rail dumping at the same time. GateMate allows you to select up to 999 cars for
remote gate operation.
The Ttech turnkey radio and control
system for locomotives is suitable for battery, diesel and trolley units. It incorporates
Berlets radio control system and transmitter. Here are the main components:
The Brake Pak is a compact all-in-one power unit to
electrically apply the service brake and release spring-applied service brakes. It
features proportional control for smooth braking effort. Twenty-four volt DC power from
the Ttech power supply drives a piston pump that charges an accumulator to provide reserve
brakes. The ProControl Brake Pack interfaces to all common disk brake systems.
This unit is the heart of the control system. The battery, motor control
SCR and radio receiver are plugged into the power distribution panel using
quick-disconnect connectors. This plug-and-play scheme allows all major systems to be
changed quickly, keeping the locomotive at work.
The power supply, also located in the enclosure, runs the radio and brake
system. Also included are battery level monitor, light and horn switches, radio/manual
switch, horn, and push-to-apply E-Stop button. The power distribution panel greatly
simplifies the installation of radio controls and provides a rugged, easy-to-maintain
wiring scheme for the locomotive. It is the central piece of a turnkey radio
control installation on locomotives.
The radio control receiver features a PLC to interlock the brakes and
speed control for safe operation. Safety software is extensive and "trains" the
operator to use the system right. True speed control can be achieved regardless of the
carried load, which is a real timesaver when loading and dumping.
The receiver can be unplugged and easily removed. The handheld transmitter
is light and rugged and comes in two styles: pushbutton and membrane. Both feature
single-hand operation, three speeds forward and reverse, brake apply, a virtual deadman,
and a true emergency stop.
